CAT.5E, a type of network cable that is designed to support up to 100Mbps (gigabits per second) of data transfer speed and 100Mhz of bandwidth frequency over a distance of up to 100 meters, was officially released in 2001 and follows the TIA/EIA-568-B standard.
It`s an enhanced version of Cat 5 with the addition of protection against remote crosstalk, But in terms of specifications, there is not much difference from the CAT-5 line. Although Gigabit Ethernet is designed for CAT-5 cables, Cat5e cables and their plugs are better able to use and work with 1000BASE—T Gigabit Ethernet.
Although the standard specifications and functions of the CAT-5e line are also more perfect than the CAT-5 line, its transmission line length cannot be increased: the theoretical length of the transmission line is still 100 meters (328 feet); The actual longest length in the horizontal plane is 90 meters. Performance testing of these CAT-5E lines is based on TIA/EIA-568-B.2-2001.It has a variety of fire resistance grades to meet different environmental needs.
